Two Pitchers team Up as Falcons Shut Out Madison on the road.

Falcons defeated Madison 9-0 yesterday as Will VanDuren and Carson Leighty combined to throw a shutout.

Falcons got things started in the first inning.  Michael McGibney drove in one when he singled.

Falcons notched four runs in the third inning.  Falcons offense in the inning was led by Gavin Hunter and Ty Hill, all driving in runs in the frame.

Will Van Duren was the winning pitcher for Falcons. He lasted five innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out three and walking one.  Leighty threw two scoreless innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Rains took the loss for Madison. He surrendered seven runs on eight hits over three innings, striking out two.

Falcons totaled 12 hits in the game.  McGibney, Harrison Rodgers, Nicholas Jio, and Ethan Babcock-Barrie each had multiple hits for Falcons.  Babcock-Barrie, Jio, Rodgers, and McGibney each collected two hits to lead Falcons.  Falcons didn’t commit a single error in the field. Spencer Roos had  six chances in the field, the most on the team.
