January 22, 2019 – The National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) is pleased to announce Megan Connors of Scripps Ranch High School in San Diego, California as its Senior Field Hockey Athlete of the Year.
Connors, who will play field hockey at the University of California at Berkeley, closed out an outstanding scholastic career by helping Scripps ranch win the CIF-San Diego Section Open Division Championship. She scored 43 goals with 18 assists this past season. At the end of the season, the CIF-San Diego Section honored her as its Field Hockey Player of the Year.
“Megan is an excellent example what this award stands for,” said Eric Hess, Executive Director of the NHSCA. “She has excelled as much in the classroom as she has on the field. We congratulate Megan on an outstanding high school career and wish her success at Cal.”
